I have a 1996 Savage with only 4000 miles on it. I've never had a problem with oil leaks of any sort. I made the mistake of not draining the gas out of the tank this winter. I started the bike a couple of months ago and it fan fine. Went to start it yesterday and gas/oil poured out of the overflow tube from the breather box, however the bike does start. I drained the oil this morning and it was mostly gas. I've never had this problem before. My question is, what would cause this? I don't know if I left the choke on or what. I took the bowl off of the carb and it was clean and the floats move freely, however I haven't tested them to see if they actually float. The engine has always ran fine, no knocking or anything. So I believe the problem was with not winterizing the bike. I don't believe it's a major mechanical problem, but would like to get some input.
